Biography Like most musicians Rejean's love of music started early. She began playing guitar at 10 years old. At the age of 16, singer/songwriter Rejean had her first public appearance at the famous "Pips" in Brooklyn and at 17, she was offered a contract with Polygram Records. Not being of legal age she had to have her mother's permission to sign the contract. "Mom was a bit old fashioned and wouldn't let me sign the contract. She wanted me to go to college instead . She felt that going out on the road that young wasn't in my best interest!" ReJean then went on to graduate Brooklyn College with a degree in music composition. After that her music career continued to blossom. For years she performed as a singer/bassist as well as working as a full time event planner. "I was working 24/7 and was unable to pursue my writing passion, I was very frustrated. So I decided to take a leap of faith and quit my job as an event planner to write full time." Although no one believed it could happen, within a few months she scored her first publishing deal with Mastersource/Universal Group. At the same time James Ingram was planning on performing one of her songs. "That was the beginning of my writing career." From that point on doors flew open and she continued to write for film, television and artist projects. Currently she is performing as a freelance musician and writing for various projects including the Bella Bambolina project, artists, television and film. She also is a stylist consultant for the performing arts. |
